How to get your mutual fund CAS from CAMS or KFintech
A Consolidated Account Statement (CAS) lists every mutual fund transaction under your PAN in one PDF. It's free, it takes a couple of minutes to request, and it's all the Mutual Fund Journal needs.
What a CAS is
CAMS and KFintech are the registrars that keep records for India's mutual funds. Either one can email you a single statement covering every fund house, so you don't need to request statements AMC by AMC.
Detailed vs summary CAS
Choose a detailed statement. A detailed CAS lists every purchase, SIP instalment, switch and redemption with its date, amount, units and NAV. A summary CAS only has closing balances, which isn't enough to work out profit or XIRR.
The PDF password
The CAS arrives as a password-protected PDF. The password is the one you set while requesting it. The Journal asks for it once, opens the PDF in your browser, and never stores it.

Is the CAS free?
Yes. Requesting a CAS from CAMS or KFintech is free.
Does my CAS include funds bought through apps?
It includes every folio held in statement (non-demat) form under your PAN, whichever app or distributor you used. Funds held in a demat account appear in your depository statement instead, and can be added to the Journal by hand.
What period should I choose?
Since inception, or from before your first investment. A shorter period leaves out early purchases, which changes your profit and XIRR.
